Visual Trigger

Visual Triggers" are a series experimental paintings that draw parallels to the association of addiction with disease. Meeting with scholars at Rhodes College and accessing research from St. Jude hospital, the work imagines a seductive and beautiful specimen while being based on these invasive cancers and specimens as seen under microscopes. Playing with formal aspects of color theory generate a slightly psychedelic and wildly organic feeling on floating circular panels. Imagery from these paintings was used to create animations that filled rooms with sound and color.
